Events, Cruises and Gatherings / Re: SWANAGE THE COVID EDITION
« on: May 07, 2020, 11:37:59 AM »
With or without the buggy, I'll certainly try to come down to Swanage for the "non-carnival" weekend, missed Swanage for the last 2 years and would be great to see everyone plus get some more video footage of the great weekends that are Swanage.  ;-)up

(Sadly, with the caveat assuming that I'm not working at a show elsewhere with the Safety Fire Stick)

I know, gobsmacked! Only booked it last weekend, single rooms £60, only two miles away. Called the Woodland Grange I think. Looks decent enough. Shocked it wasn’t booked out and so cheap!

Don't forget to pop along to our stand along the back wall of Hall 1 and say Hi.
I think you know what I'll be flogging! Special discount rates, hurry hurry hurry! All major cards accepted etc etc... lol

Not sure if I will get much of chance to come out to see you all on the usual grassy knoll but will if I can.
We are up early on Saturday to setup, driving back down in the afternoon. Then driving back up Sunday morning, staying in a nice warm hotel that evening (sorry) and another full day at the show for Monday.

If anyone is looking to pick up a Fire Safety Stick whilst at the show, we've signed up an agent who will be selling them on their stand in the show.

Look out for Rainbow Screens in the Surrey Hall.
(They are the folks that make amazing thermal screen covers and pop tops for all types of campers)

Don't know what a Fire Safety Stick is? Well its the very latest in fire extinguishing technology - ideal for Buggies, campers, workshop and home. Works on all major fire types, leaves no mess on the engine or bodywork afterwards (seen the video of me sacrificing my buggy?) and yet light and compact and no maintenance or servicing required.

I'll be there this year!!!!!

In fact I will be exhibiting myself!!!!

Sorry I should explain, I've got a stand in Hall 1 near where it links to Hall 2 selling our Fire Safety Sticks - who knows I might even do a killer deal for the buggy crew :)

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / Re: No drive from 4th
« on: December 22, 2018, 03:58:32 PM »
Thanks Chaps.... well sad news....

Played with the selector and still no drive, so looking very much like the box. Not drained it yet but although theres no nasty noise from it, when in motion, I think I can guess what has happened. Broken teeth on the synchromesh? Anyway, looks like the box is a dead, the cost of a basic rebuild is likely to be too much.

On the positive have managed to nick some storage in a spare warehouse unit at work for a few weeks so will start tidying it up and hopefully sort out a replacement gearbox. Funds are very tight though :(

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / No drive from 4th

Thoughts please...

Picked up the buggy after the floorpan chassis work, therefore box was removed and refitted. Driving back all gear selections seem fine but no drive from 4th. It felt like it was in gear (ie right position in the H gate if you know what I mean. ) I suppose that it could be that the selector is just a mm or two out on the box to actually engaging drive?

When I got home I did the usual loosen the plate by the gear lever but that was fine (thatís usually just to get 1,2 and reverse)

Before the tear down there were gear selection issues when warm but to be honest we found the friction plate was destroyed so that has been replaced and selection is fine.

So what do you reckon, selector issue still or a knackered box?

Thinking to drain the box oil to see if there are lumps in it (not just minor swarf), may be play with the square bolt on the joint under the inspection plate.

Noticed I was still showing up in the list. (Made my apologies the other day)

Have a fantastic time everyone (donít need to say it as you always do at Swanage!)

Gutted and sorry Flags, but its looking likely that I won't make this years Swanage.  :'( :'( :'(

And you all know how much I love it too. OK the buggy is still off the road and no sign of it being done for the deadline.... but regardless of that, I need to be in Skegness on Sunday ready to take my mum to a hospital appointment a few more hours away early Monday morning. Therefore Sunday is certainly out. If I can do just Saturday daytime and nick a ride for the cruise I will, but realistically, that may be 50:50. So its probably safer to take me off the list (camping/party/breakfast) and if I manage to make Saturday daytime then all the better.

Have a fantastic time and see you all there for next year!!!!

You bringing your tree trimmer too Andy 😁😁😆

 ;D ;D ;D

Hmmmmm.....  ;D ;D ;D

Nope... but I might bring little Sparky - He's sort of a downgrade from the Phantom but much more practical.... oh and better obstacle avoidance!  :P :P :P

14
I certainly intend being there but almost definitely won't be camping I think - just up for the usual Sunday meet?

15
Of course its way to early to say, I'll be there with my buggy! (famous last words from last year and all...)

but yes, fingers crossed the newly rebuilt buggy will be there and available for passenger rides on the Sporting Bears stand.  ;-)up
