Buggy is coming on nicely now and have made a start on wiring with all LED lights,  bonnet has been on and off a few times trial fitting for clearances and why is it so daunting drilling holes in sparkly fibreglass.  :o

Body is now bolted down onto home made neoprene foam gasket ontop of nylon shaped strips sikaflexed to the pan. The reason for not wanting to pull the body down is the 30x30x3 box section welded into the channel underneath, absolutely no flex in the pans.

So got to the point where I'm bolting the body to chassis and I noticed a while ago that the body really doesn't touch the chassis except at the very front and the rear, there is a good 8-10mm gap, I think this is probably due to the fact that the body was made in 2014 and never got put on the chassis properly until this year. So I have power planed some nylon strip into shape then I can tighten body down nice and tight. Anyone else had this issue with a Manx.

Long term storage concerns engine wise would be which ever valve springs are fully compressed they can be liable to breaking when compressed for long periods :-\

Seat belt reels have come out of a smart car same as the seats they are inclined to correspond with the hoop, tried them inclined and they pull out okay and retract they also lock when snatched. Mounted them to bracket welded into the floor as I felt this would be stronger, apart from the roll hoop mounting they mount the same as in a smart car. I also intend to attach the upper roll hoop mount into the body shell back down to the shock mount externally so as it's hidden but still very strong

As David says the first motion shaft sits in spigot bearing in flywheel nut so when it's all bolted up there will be no play  ;-)up

The car in the background is my rear wheel drive 300bhp Nissan Micra tarmac rally car I came 2nd in the National tarmac championship in 2004
Built the car from scratch suspension home built shell home built all built in my garage beat so many world cars.

Have you looked on danST engineering they do all standalone management not too bad price wise they do basemaps to get you going then get it on the rollers to set up properly do all the multi plugs for different bike looms

Tyres are 255 60 15 rear on 9" rims 195 60 15 front on 6" rims  ;-)up
