Gonna make a large-ish bell mouth for the fan intake, bit like a 917 Porsche had. Bout 13” dia, 4”
High. With a stainless mesh in it.
Will help to stop me dropping things through the bloody fan!
Also fill in the gap. Looks like it has a missing front tooth atm.

Had it's first run, plenty of messing around required yet.....

....but at least it runs.

Changed my mind on the trigger setup for the ecu, from using the dizzy internals, to fitting a crank mounted trigger wheel.

So made up a few bits to fit the Hall sensor and trigger wheel onto the vair....

Throttle is a bit heavier than I'd hoped, as it's obviously got two lots of return springs, and it's quite short travel. Could do with larger quadrants really

Having decided the throttle was too heavy and a bit too short travel, I knew if I didn’t fix it now, it would get left :-/

So....

Turned up a new quadrant. Now 60mm instead of 30mm, cable travel up from 25mm to 50mm, as per the holley that was on it before.
Haven’t fitted it yet, but sure it’ll be way better

Breather vents into the right hand filter base, just waiting on the formed silicon hose to complete it, so will post a pic when it's done.
It basically enters the filter base plate from below, much the same as the IAT sensor does on the left side. So it's a vent, rather than a proper PCV style.

When the motor comes apart for the rebuild (pretty soon) and I have easy access to work on the heads, I might add a port into the right inlet manifold and fit a PCV valve.

I like the Manta Rays.

I could be tempted to build one if I could find a decent donor Mk1 shell.
Maybe even make a mould from it.

Made up the bits today to measure the flow rate of the Yamaha injectors.
The way they’re held / sealed by the throttle boddies meant I had to make a little rig for firing one separately into a measuring burette.

Turned an injector holder/hose tail out of some Brass hexagon bar I had laying about.  Worked a treat.

Luckily, all looks fine, 280cc/min @ 50 psi
