most people will have seen my build but heres a re-cap  ;-)up

I started with a failed roof chopped pick-up for £150 no engine but had one from a previous project
then found the shell on vzi which i liked as its quite unusual being a pick up style

stripped the chassis bare then 2 new pans, etch primed and smoothrited white everthing

then i set to work on the body, stripping, filling, priming and painting matt white

stripped the engine of tinware ,welded up heater outlets and painted satin black
tubalar headers with a motorcycle silencer after all that i realised the engine couldnt be seen so i chopped the rear engine cover off

going for an off road baja style so running 195 fronts 205 rears on proline alloys

chucked it all together and came up with this was mot'd in january then i removed the engine for a rbuild currently putting back together

That's really cool! ;-)up There can't be many of them around?

Looks like it was always destined to be a pick up then? ;D

well today i'm pee'd off >:(  been investigating a misfire when i started the engine up from rebuild

checked valve clearances, plugs, leads, cap etc but still there also noticed the carb peeing fuel out through spindles thought it maybe the carb causing the problems so took it off and replaced it with weber dcd that i had fired it up misfire cured but the carb is back to front  :'( as the fuel inlet sticks out about 1/2 too far and catches the fan housing,so i fitted it back to front now cant get to the linkage

stripped the holley carb and the spindle is well worn and no bushes in it to change so it looks like its scrap

might just go back to a solex  ???

you could get some bushes made or there is a guy selling ones for 34-pict 3 carbs to repace the plastic ones. you may need to do some measuring. have you checked out holley web sites for info or modification.

theres no bushes at all just the spindle rotating in the carb body with about a 1mm play

just trying to workout if i can get this dcd to fit better or get a manifold thats 90 degrees rotated like normal ones

if the body is worn and spindle is ok you may be able to drill out the body and fit bushes. wear like that is common on these new after market carbs that have no bushing apparently a problem of cheap manufacture these days
