Count Gem and myself in for breakfast.

What's that you say Peter ??????  You would like to have a play with my carb and see if its set up ok using your wealth of experience ???  Well I guess I could let you do that as you asked so nicely ....

It was coming off though, realy really, not a bolt or clamp in sight!

And I guess Max was soaking all up, I hope so anyway  ;-)up  :)

I have a box of jets, and maybe there's something in there, Yes, of course, we can talk and the whip the carb off
to see what's in it.

Do you know if the jets have been changed, or is it 'out of the box'..... :D :D :D

It's been on the rolling road and set up by a guy who talks in a similar language to you ... Jets, idle blah blah. I have no clue!! Carbs are a bit like black magic I think ! You either understand .... Or you don't ... Guess which side of that line I fall ??..
Anyway, all my electric choke has been removed, and I only noticed last week that the carb is sucking a shed load of air in the back where the choke unit fitted. If I block that leak the engine dies.
Had a timing light on it at the weekend with Matt ( a doon builder on here) and its running at 10' after TDC. I'm sure the book says 7.5 before TDC ??
Runs ok though. Just all seems a bit odd to me !

That's VERY odd Dan, and nowhere near where it should be. if you have an 009, the timing must be set at between 28 and 32 BTDC...

The air leak will undoubtedly have affected the mixture., and to be honest, from what have just said, its a wonder it runs at all.

Its not rocket science, and oneday, when you WANT to understand, you will  :-* :-* :-* :-*

We can look at it at NEWS  ;-)up

The air being sucked in is so big that when dave fisher put his finger on it I had to grab his ankles to stop him getting pulled in !  :D
I thought it might be my air filter is to thick, causing to much resistance. So the leek hole is the path of less resistance so to speak.

Why do I ever NEED to understand ?? That's what friends are for  ;-)up
