several hours later, with aching hands and back.

Thank goodness for the iron girder I have across the garage ceiling - every garage should have a beam to hang your beam from.

First coat of paint done, leave it overnight and see how it looks (and feels) in the morning.

Found some cool bolts in B&Q to hang the beam with, so it is the right way up for the top coat painting.

And here it is after two coats of nice shiny black paint

I love my Dremmel

Attached the pedals at the end of the day, before running my youngest back to Northampton (to his Mum's)

Pre - dremmel

Post dremmel and etch primer, base primer (2 coats) and the first blast with colour. Photo does not do it justice really, hopefully will take better ones when fully painted.

Bye bye 3 days in Man Cave, back to work tomorrow, with vengeance and FA Cup round 2 planning..  :'( :'(

Beam laquered
and Beam laquered again…!!

Pedals sprayed (again)

Steering rods painted (again)

Did I mention I lacquered the beam. Its all spangly, its pearlesent (can't spell - to much vodka) finish to the paint. I love it.

Pictures to follow when dry and in full glory. Hopefully.

Tekaloid paint ordered for the floor. Hopefully here tomorrow.

Anybody fancy popping over this coming weekend and help me remove the gear box (for a giggle) want to clean it up etc and may be paint it.
Lunch and beers provided,,,,!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

First tekaloid coat

another

I love Tekaloid paint, covers well and is cheap with a great finish.
Not sure if I will give it a second coat, but will see in the morning. So far so good.

Beam back on with new bolts……

Went to VW Swap Meet today and picked up a very nice steering rod…!!

Got carried away with excitement
Started cleaning stuff again

Dremmeled the monkeys out of things…. basically. I think I have mentioned before I love my Dremmel.

Then post some fast drying under coat, I just happen to have in my Man Cave, first coat of standard black paint….!!!

Dropped spindles got in on the action too……

All in all, a fruitful Sunday arvo in the Man Cave……...
