Guys I am very new to buggies, I have just brought a 73 and found the battery is behind the passenger seat. Is this normal as it stops the seat moving back?
Thanks Gary
Flat out doing nothing.

Hi Gary,

Glad you found your way in here  ;-)up

Yes, its quite normal for the Battery to be placed behind the seat (usually drivers side in the UK) - and is the same place that they were originally fitted in the Donor Beetle

Nothing to stop you moving it though, but you may struggle to find a more suitable location   ;-)up

Most buggies have the battery fitted either into an area moulded into the body behind the right hand seat, or in a fibreglass box sunk into the rear seat/shelf if the body has a smooth rear area.

Photos printed on genuine ILFORDŽ paper, sent from a Commodore VIC 20.

"Ah, Beach Buggies, sure, just a quick cheap way of getting a few more years out of a rusty Beetle. You can throw one together in a weekend." anon.

Welcome Gary.

Any brief details of your '73 or even a couple of pictures.

Any plans to change things ie can we help find you stuff and solutions or is the buggy all set to go ?
Hugh

Thanks guys, I know it's supposed to be sunshine here every day but today and tomorrow it's raining. As soon as I can I will post some pictures. 👍👍
