Has anyone purchased one of these steering wheel hubs before? I am looking for something to fit my buggy and there is only one review on e-bay which says that the back is solid with no recess for the nut and rod.

This is what the steering wheel currently looks like.

By the way please excuse my ignorance and total lack of knowledge. When I read some of the posts you guys put on here it blows my mind!
I thought I was practically a fully qualified mechanic when I replaced the sender unit last week and got my fuel gauge working!
If you had shown me one the week before I would have guessed thst it had come out of a toilet cistern.  ;D

Your wheel is mounted with a bolt a VW column has the nut on the shaft inside the boss under the wheel so you have a flat centre. best take the bolt out to see what you have.

Thanks for your replies. I do actually have a piece that I think should go on there but it looks like it should clip on to something. I'm guessing that there is something missing.

there should be a flexible flat disc, spring and a domed horn push mounted on the 3 bolts that have a small bollard like fitment on top for the flexy disc to lock onto. search grant for a photo of it all.

Ended up speaking to my brother in law who is an engineer. Asked him if he would be able to cut a recess in that e-bay item and he said 'Yes - or I could just make the whole thing!'
Gave him some measurements and he knocked this up in no time at all.
