Possible linkage clearance issue. Brookie who I bought the carbs from had to use spacers as the linkage was catching the cylinder shrouds. He needed them for his new carbs so obviously didn't part with them.

I put some on an engine today with a CPS bell crank, no issues. Do you know what sort of crank linkage you have?
