Hi,

Some of you guys may remember me ? I was a member of the SDBC and had a yellow and gold flake SWB MK1 GP. I also had a multi coloured Tramp buggy. I also had a Rat. and a GP LDV when I was much younger oh and a California .

I kinda thought I was finished with V dubs but have been helping my Son restore an old camper van over the last couple of years and it had me reminiscing, every mechanical job we did on it I kept saying to myself "This would be so much easier if it was a buggy "

An old mate of mine messaged me on Facebook a week or so ago and said he had been offered a buggy, sent me some pics and I foolishly said if he didn't want it I "may" be interested, long story short I have put a deposit on it and pick it up next week.

It's a LWB GP MK1, the floors are shot and the body has been hacked thru the middle I think it may have been a SWB that somebody has altered, I have found another pan and may even look at another shell for it, I really like the Bounty Hunter but that does involve cutting the chassis.

If any interest I may do a build thread on here

Sometime - between sessions building your buggy’s - it would be great if you were able to post any shots of any of that list of previous buggy’s you owned.

I assume you are still living in SDBC territory. Hope you can get along to an event with some other buggy’s to share your knowledge.

Yes I went to the 1st meeting at Buxton a long time ago, and also joined the convoy at Swanage one year.

I still recognize a few of the names posting and glad to see you guys are keeping the hobby alive.
