I don't have the bolt on bits of the doghouse on the rear of my fanshroud.
I've never thought of it as being an issue on a buggy engine.
What do you all think?

In the normal hot/cold zone setup in a beetle then it is a necessity, but with a buggy and the non enclosed engine, the output from oil cooler is going to get blasted out the side.

Cannot really disagree with Gordon's thoughts there, but for peace of mind I would find them and fit them

The cooler will vent to the left into the turbulence so ok but fitting all the parts is up to personal preference as you may want more parts to paint orange.

Personally, I wouldn't fit them, they are not needed on an all exposed engine for any cooling properties. However, with them removed, I suppose there is a very very very slim chance of a stone getting flung up and puncturing it
