I've been actively involved in the replica and speciality car design and manufacture business for 50 years.

Retired  ;D in 2003, but kept busy doing design consultancy work for my former business colleagues here and in Germany.

Coincidentally the German and English guys have both asked me to get involved with Buggy based projects at the same time !

The German project is particularly interesting as it involves a radical body style [ still Buggy ] and more radical power plant. ;)

Both companies are long term players in the replica / speciality car business and when completed the products will be launched and made available here and in the EU.

Many thanx for the welcome .... hate to be secretive, but I will post pix and details immediately prior to the launch  :-X..... probably Geneva show 2020.

The project will bear the name  [ legally ] of a defunct European manufacturer NOT known for their buggies  [ ! ] - for which my German buddy holds full legal and intellectual rights.

I have been involved in the design and manufacture of replicas for the last 4 decades - Porsche [356 / 550 ], Cobras [ who hasn't ], Gullwing Mercs, and Jags [ C,D and XKSS ].

I did design and market a sand rail for a short time as part of a larger range, and of course I am familiar with Beetle running gear through the 356 Speedsters.

This new project is particularly exciting as I start with a clean sheet of paper for the chassis and running gear and the body will be vaguely recognised for it's heritage, but there the similarity will end. ;) ;)

HA,ha - YES. The project is a joint collaboration between myself and a former German sales agent of mine and as such will be available in LH and RH drive.  - colourways ? - anything you want. ;)

They will also come with FULL EU COMPLIANCE. IE legal to register in the road as is.

Again sorry to be secretive, but once we are ready to launch I'll flag up all the details here. I am in real need of that hardtop now .... any help gratefully appreciated. 8)
