" port out starboard home "

That only works if sailing east to west and return (northern hemisphere)
So as Harwich to Holland is west to east it'll need to be SOPH.  Just saying loike.  :D

Other way around Steve. It's supposed to be that on the journey from Britain to India that the toffs wanted the more comfortable, shaded side. So port out is west to east, same as to Holland. Hugh knew that really :D
Who needs prozac when you can drive a buggy?

chance of the sun getting the outside cabins hot is nil and the view at best may involve a few ships with lights on, just wondering if Hugh's butler will be on the ferry this time.

Used to work for Philips so regularly took the boats across.  Had to go once at short notice, no room on flights so took the night boat but no cabin. The night run is done at slower speed to give a decent sleep and save fuel. BORING seeing a light was as exciting as it got.
Although I wouldn't want to repeat some of the trips made interesting by the weather or full boats on bank holidays
Dave - Doon LWB 1st one made  ;-)up Name "Weather Permitting"

'...just wondering if Hugh's butler will be on the ferry this time.'

I prefer to leave the butler at home minding the silver and travel with my valet. But for IBW its fun to rough it like ordinary folk and carry the luggage, turn down ones own bed and have to queue !

Phoned P&O yesterday to see if they would do a group discount from Hull. They'll only consider it if everyone books as one booking, rather than individual payments.
There is currently (and probably always us) a 10% discount code for bookings made online before 18th December. That code is NSEEBO-10

Hi all
Is anyone else going this year from Hull?
As it stands at the moment, it looks like there's only 2 bugs. P&O still have a 10% special running at the moment which is expiring on the 18th.............
Any other bugs joining, as 10% off is a bit of a saving?
If there isn't many going from Hull then I'm not sure that P&O will give us a discount, otherwise I'm going to get mine before the 18th

There arw another two I know of who have booked accommodation, but not the ferry yet. And at least one more 99%er. Also 2 or 3 I think will be going, but not booked yet as far as I know.
Don't worry, you'll not be alone.... unless you book the wrong day!
