Do I take it that's Nigel Groves? A long way round if you are still in Beer.

Yes, but we wouldn`t let him on our ferry because he smells   :P

Just had Scott on the phone his local VW specialist seems to be lacking and the buggy is not running right after a few visits, he is checking the coil tonight  and he is back there in the morning to tell the guy how he wants it set up on the ignition system.

Went in with a flat spot now coughing a d spluttering, guy said new alternator was over charging so took the big wire off it and told them to drive to an auto electrician ! Where His comment about doing that was expected and he found nothing wrong.
Coil was hot supposedly 19 volts in the buggy so he now looking at coil faulty and expert says points should be 15 thou.

Must be a water cooled vw guy

I know they'll be a proper 'balanced' account of IBW anon but a few images...

Harwich ‘refreshments’ whilst we waited several hours for the late ferry. I think the man in the blue cap is an attendant…

Someone told Dave C he wouldn’t be allowed on the ferry without a clean screen

But Dave C showed his specialisation in living sculptures

The IBW events list

Some local traffic heard Dave DND as in town

Noordbroek sculpture. Tulip planter ?

Different shades of yellow

And Orange

David and Kath went native in Groningen

Something for the scooter lovers

Always nice to see one of the national icons. At the peak there were 15,000 windmills but now there are only 800 in the country

navigate to a gas station near me

A restored windmill (900,000 Euros after an electrical fire in a neighbouring shed in 1999)

Part of the harbour entertainment at Delfzijl

Keith perused a local stall for a surprise gift for Dave DND

A shower on Saturday afternoon showing the ‘white’ line of tents below the tree line and local windmill next to the second tree trunk from the left…

The windmill near the IBW site more clearly

One size prize for all of us

Lee admiring two Honda engines in a rail

The water feature being tested. I think someone said 6 litres of muddy water were found in the sump after this stunt

A fairly rare sight of Keith sitting down relaxing and not behind or under someone’s buggy

Dave C insisted in being in the final line up

It’s a Hi from Vicky

One of the two convoys home

Over the long dam towards Amsterdam on the way home through sluice gates and past a flock of wind surfers where we stopped for fuel and a break

Lee eating yet another egg

Mark trying to use his Subway to distract the seagulls from depositing on his buggy

Steve and Claire, from up north, pushed on into the rain at Amsterdam. Until my left wiper dropped onto my bonnet and luckily stayed there until they allowed us to shelter under a petrol station canopy

Off the ferry at Harwich

And dispersal after MacD’s breakfast

Great photos Hugh.  As usual, your account of our adventures,  highlights such a memorable IBW.  I'll post my pictures when I have sussed out how to transfer them from my camera, onto here! Could be some time  ;D
I might have small hands but pack a mean punch.

Thingymebob as you'll appreciate my snaps are only the tip of the ice berg of the many highs and couple of lows of the IBW adventure. But I know Dave DND will be along soonish with his magisterial take on the whole fandango including no doubt the Flower Power costumes, Dave C addressing the crowd and Dutch TV fame for Alan, Flags, Mark, Chad, Lee and Bob....

Finally uploaded a few pictures from IBW 2019, including a great shot of Hugh exploring the wind mill, showing off his agility on the ladders

My memory was of struggling to keep up with David, Fyn and Kath scampering up and down the many ladders like regular mill mice!
